First Fruits is a sacred biblical practice of offering God our first and best at the beginning of the new year. It is an act of gratitude, faith, and trust in God’s provision.

“Costly Grace. First Gifts. Holy Beginning.”**

On the first Sunday of the new year, we come before God with our First Fruits —

not what remains, but what is first;

not what is convenient, but what is consecrated.

is sacred offering is our declaration that the year belongs to God.

It is our collective “yes” to Bonhoeffer’s call to costly grace,

to sacrificial living,

to Kingdom stewardship that strengthens the house and expands the mission.

First Fruits is more than an offering —

it is our promise to begin the year with humility, discipline, and deep gratitude.

We give not out of pressure, but out of purpose.

We sow so that a community may flourish, a vision may rise, and a people may be strengthened for the work ahead.

Join us for a morning of worship, thanksgiving, and sacred commitment as we set the tone for 2026.

The New Unity Baptist Church's Annual First Fruits Celebration is truly a splendor to behold. Peopled with pageantry, poetry, and praise, it is the church's Grand Entrance into the New Year.

With the exceptions of Easter and Christmas, few other events can rival or compare to the sheer majesty of this monumental occasion. It simply has no equal.

Members adorned in their wintry white and gold reflect the glory of God in the highest as day-lit doves alight and aloft are awashed in celestial beauty.

The brush of angels' wings creates heavenly shifts in the atmosphere. Hosannas perfume the senses. Surely, the  Presence of the Lord is in this place.

Members come bearing gifts of grains, oils, fruits, vegetables, and other delicacies from around the globe. From the Oriental east to the Occidental west the Abundance flows and overflows.

From Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, and beyond we revel and rejoice in knowing that surely "the earth is the Lord's." 

We invite you to join us as the Magnificent Magi and the Seeking Shepherds, destined Great Givers as they are,  bring their concentrated treasuries of blessings to the Lord, having learned to NOT give until it hurts but rather 'until it helps'.

We're reserving a special seat for you, your family, and your friends.
