What We Believe
Rooted in Scripture. Formed in the Spirit. Lived in the world.
A Living Faith
At New Unity Baptist Church, our beliefs are not simply statements to be affirmed—
they are truths to be lived.
What we hold to be true shapes how we live,
how we love,
and how we serve.
Our Beliefs in Motion
Our life together is shaped by the work of the Spirit
through what we call our prophetic ministries:
Prayer.
Preaching.
Praise.
Teaching.
Through these sacred rhythms,
our beliefs are formed, practiced, and made visible.
As Scripture Declares
“To equip the saints for the work of ministry…” (Ephesians 4:12–16)
“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind…” (Romans 12:1–2)
“You shall receive power…” (Acts 1:8)
So that:
— the people of God may be edified
— the Church may be unified
— the Godhead—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—may be glorified
The Bible
We believe the Bible is the complete and authoritative Word of God.
— The 66 books of the Old and New Testaments
were inspired by the Spirit of God as originally written
— Scripture is the final authority
in all matters of faith and conduct
God
We believe in one God—Creator of all—
holy, sovereign, and eternal.
Existing in three Persons:
Father.
Son.
Holy Spirit.
Jesus Christ
We believe in the full deity of our Lord Jesus Christ.
— Eternally existing with the Father
— Born of a virgin, living a sinless life
— Dying a substitutionary death
— Rising bodily from the grave
— Ascending in triumph
— Returning personally in glory
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the full deity and personhood of the Holy Spirit.
— Convicts of sin, righteousness, and judgment
— Regenerates, indwells, and sanctifies believers
— Baptizes believers into the Body of Christ
— Distributes spiritual gifts according to His will
— Fills and empowers those yielded to Him
Humanity
We believe that humanity was created in the image of God.
— Through disobedience, humanity fell
— All inherit a condition of sin and separation
— All stand in need of redemption
Salvation
We believe that salvation is by the sovereign grace of God.
— Christ’s death is a sufficient and atoning sacrifice
— Justification is by faith alone in Jesus Christ
— Those called by God are preserved
and ultimately transformed into His likeness
Our Beliefs in Practice
These beliefs are not confined to words on a page.
They are lived out in worship,
formed in community,
and expressed through service.
At New Unity, we do not simply believe—
we become.
