First Fruits

“The First Yes Belongs to God.”

What Is First Fruits?

First Fruits is one of the two great anchor moments in New Unity’s spiritual life—
a sacred practice that marks our year not by the calendar, but by covenant.

Each January, we bring God not our leftovers, but our first and best—
a holy offering that sets the direction of our year.

It is biblical.
It is ancient.
It is revolutionary.

And it is deeply New Unity.

The Meaning of First Fruits

In Scripture, First Fruits was never about money—it was about priority.

It answers one question:

Who gets your first yes?

At New Unity, First Fruits is our communal declaration
that the first yes of the year belongs to God.

This is not fundraising.

This is covenant.

What Happens in First Fruits

  • A sacred gathering in worship
  • A moment of consecrated giving
  • Scripture, prayer, and communal reflection
  • A Word centered on dedication and new beginnings

This is where we begin the year aligned—
not just in intention, but in action.

Our Rhythm

First Fruits flows from Watch Night
and carries us into the new year in faith and order.

Each year begins not with assumption—
but with alignment.

Looking Ahead

Our next First Fruits gathering will take place in January 2027.

Until then, we continue to live the yes we have already spoken.

How We Live First Fruits Throughout the Year

  • We prioritize God in our decisions
  • We give with intention and trust
  • We live in alignment with what we have declared

First Fruits is not just a moment—
it is a posture.

Scripture Anchors

Proverbs 3:9
“Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the first fruits of all your increase.”

Deuteronomy 26:2
“You shall take some of the first of all the fruit…”

Romans 11:16
“If the first fruit is holy, the whole lump is holy.”

Closing Reflection

The first yes belongs to God.

And what we offer first
shapes everything that follows.
