Deacon Denise Pailin
Dean, Christian Education Development
Greetings Beloved,
Thank you for stopping by our Christian Education Development's Staff Page. We want you to know that we have some of the very best teachers, tutors and instructors that the Kingdom has to offer anywhere.
The Vision And Mission Of The Christian Education Development Ministry Is To Equip, Empower, And Enlighten The Church Through Consistent, On-Going Study And Teaching Of God's Word, The Holy Bible.
This year's journey (2022- 2023) will be one of the greatest we've ever offered. Like me, many of our teachers are downright giddy about this year's learning cycle.
So, whether you are a youngster or a bit 'seasoned' like myself just jump aboard, grab a chair and 'let's get ready to rumble, tumble and grow together in the Word of God'
I spent the majority of my adult career in the banking/finance industry and you can take it from me that there is no finer investment anywhere than studying the glorious Word of God - the ROI (Return on Investment) is simply out of this world!
I enjoy sewing, shopping at consignment shops and spending 'honey-love' time with my husband, daughters and 5 awesome grandchildren. Exploring the vast world around me revitalizes my mind and my spirit - what an awesome Creator God is!
I sure hope that you and I will bump into each other somewhere this season. Who knows, perhaps we can share family photos and a good laugh along the way.
The Lord's richest grace to you - His Chosen, His Royal, His Holy, and Peculiar (1 Peter 2:9).
Inell Colvin
Kingdom Kairos, Lead Teacher
Hello Everyone,
I am Inell Colvin, newest staff member of the Christian Education Development Ministry (CEDM).
I taught classes at the elementary school level for nearly 50 years! And now I am (more than) ready to put all of that energy and training to work in our wonderful CED Ministry with the adults, both male and female.
I'm asked all the time "Where'd you get that unique name of yours from?" And my reply never changes, "My momma gave it to me!" (I'm told that I have a very keen sense of humor and I love laughing, smiling, and bringing joy to others).
Some years ago, when my husband, Oddis, passed I was left to raise our young son alone. Today, he is married and pastoring in the great city of Detroit, Michigan. He and his wife have gifted me with 2 outstanding grandsons. What a life!
Today, my life is about a rich as ever. I am needed and I am excited to be alive. So many, many blessings in my life and I'm sharing my gifts with the world.
Chosen. Royal, Holy, Peculiar. (1 Peter 2:9).

Primary Class, Assistant Teacher
Hello Dear Friend,
I want the whole world to know that I've never known love like this before. Agape love, "the love of Christ" is such a rich and rewarding experience.
Orphaned at a relatively young age, my dad and I attended worship at the New Unity Baptist Church in my formative years. Before long he would become the church's first deacon!
A mom of 2, my daughter and a son give me such great joy.. Many believe that the Lord placed me here to be in my children's lives. The real truth is with them I feel like I'm 'born again.' Thirty plus (30+) years of raising and rearing them and not a day has been wasted. Thank you, Lord!
Though I'm homebound much of the time I feel so much joy in serving as a NuVo (New Unity Volunteer) in the church's dynamic ministry. I'm needed and that feels awfully good!
I really enjoy teaching but few things excite me like having my daily phone chats with the seniors in the church. We rehash every episode of "Judge Judy" and "Law and Order" And before you know it it's naptime. Life's good.
I also share as a "Zoomer"- helping others in our weekly church gatherings. I get all excited Sunday, Wednesday and Saturdays when we meet (secretly I wish for more).
It is amazing what I've learned and can now do for others. God is sooo good to me and I'm doing all I can to spread that goodness to everyone I meet
And for me, it's nothing less than Pure Love

As a native New Yorker for the past 22 years my family and I have lived here in Baltimore, Md.; my friends and neighbors tell me that 'back in the day' it was known as " The Land of Pleasant Living." Oh, how the times have changed but I still believe in goodness.
As a professional educator in the Baltimore City school system since moving here it is my sincere desire to create young scholars full of smarts, love, and creativity.
Interacting with youth keeps me 'in the know'. The teaching profession is one of the most demanding yet fulfilling careers I can think of. There's not much more that I would want to do.
Transplanted with a purpose.

Little Bees, Lead Instructor
Hi Everybody,
I'm Brittany. And although my names means "from Britain," I'm born, bred, and raised right here in the good, ole USA.
I know that as Christians we belong to 2 kingdoms - one here on earth and the other in heaven but for now I'm ok with this one.
I have many loved ones "on the other side," none I'm more fonder of than my dad and my grandmother. Some years ago when my mother remarried I thought I was losing something special; my pastor noticed this and he asked me to dance with him at the wedding that evening. He talks (and talks and talks) about it all the time. lol
I want to teach all the children of the world about heaven - that's where my grandmother is and I'm living to see her again someday. Like my sister and all of my cousins we talk about Grandma all the time. So, you see, we have to go to heaven to see her again.
So many life-lessons from my mom and grandmom live with me. I hope to be able to pass them onto my own very special, (nearly) 13 year old son. He makes me more and more proud of him everyday.
To all of the young mothers out there I say, "Look Up see the faces, heaven's got our back!"

Phillip & Tamera Randolph, Sr.
Co-Instructors, Deacons Discovery Class
Hello Everyone,
We're Phillip & Tamera Randolph but in the New Unity Church we're also affectionately known as "Aquila & Priscilla" co-laborers in the gospel ministry of Jesus Christ (Romans 16: 3 & 4)..
My strong and handsome "Phil" is all so smarter than smart, and he says that when he first saw me 40+ years ago, it was simply "love at first sight!" One thing for sure we both fell in love with Jesus and all these many years later with Him we're still growing in the spirit of agape love.
We're blessed to teach the lay leaders, the deacons, of the church. Such an abundantly talented group they are! At times, they teach us in ways known and unknown. How mutually blessed we are!
Chosen; Royal; Holy, and Peculiar (1 Peter 2:9).
Jasmine Rodriguez
Little Bees, Assistant Teacher
Hola! Y Como estas,
Hello! And how are you? I'm Jasmine Rodriguez and this 19 year old bilingual speaker is bubbling over with excitement from morning til nighttime.
I live with my parents and 2 brothers and our home is a veritable United Nations. You gotta see us to believe it. I believe that it's just the way God wanted His big, diverse, multi, multi world to be!
I am an Assistant Instructor in the Youth Division. My goal this year is to return to college and continue onward in the field of education.
I love teaching and I especially love watching over my bubbly lil my baby brother. Growing my business of handmade key chains, coasters and jewelry takes up a lot of my 'spare time.'
As a much younger girl my Nana (grandmother) brought me to church and led me to Christ. My family is so proud of me and we really love each other.
Ok, hasta luego (see you later).
Chosen (Elegida), Royal (Real), Holy (Santa) , Peculiar (Peculiar) (1 Peter 2:9).

Hello Everyone,
I love What I do!
As an accountant by trade I know the value of good recording keeping. So many people spend hours and hours of frustration getting ready for the annual tax season. Much of it has to do with sloppy record keeping.
I have a fiduciary responsibility to make sure that my client's tax reports are honest and accurate. And if they're ever called in for an audit I am right there to skillfully guide them during the process.
One day when our work here on earth is done each of us will have to stand be the "Great Auditor of Life." When He asks "what did you do with the life that I gave you?" each of us must answer accurately and honestly.
As in my profession, my job is not to answer the question for my clients but to make sure that they are equipped and fully prepared to respond.
So, it is with my students, preparing them for life's lessons and explaining how the calculus of 1+1+1 equals 3, the holy trinity, and yet it still remains 1.
Good recording keeping, the Holy Bible, has proven this over and over and over again. You can count on it.
Like I said, Folks, I love what I do!

Teacher
Good Day All,
I work at one of the leading medical facilities in the world. We have nurses, physicians, staff, and world renown specialist in virtually every department.
I am a teacher and also the Lead Usher here at New Unity. Serving others is my calling. Over the many years that I have worked at the hospital I have witnessed many miracles.
I know that God uses his creatures and his creation to bless the world over.
I am a mother of 5 and a grandmother of 10! My family and I all love worshipping and serving at the New Unity Baptist Church. My entire family mean so much to me.
My middle daughter is in the finals of her Nursing Studies - pray with me, won't you, that she'll become world renown as the kindest, most helpful nursing provider the world over - it's a Mother's Prayer - and I do still believe in miracles.

Assistant Teacher
Hey Everybody!
My family and I love, love, love Jesus and the New Unity Baptist Church. From infancy, I was just about 'raised in the pew'.
During midweek Noon Day Services my now-departed grandparents would bring me to church and place me on the pew as they regaled in worship. So, it's true, all my life I've been "A Church Girl."
I just finished my Masters' Degree Program and I am putting things on pause for a moment before tackling the Doctoral Program.
I want to 'conquer the world,' but even more so I want to be able to help change the world for good.
No boast, here, but my family has left a great legacy for me, my very protective big brother, cousins, nieces and nephews to follow. We believe the Bible is true and we know that we can do all things through Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:13).
New Unity's Christian Education Servant of the Year Award is named in honor of my grandparents and our yet to be displayed "Veronica Veil" honors my late aunt and former head of Christian Education, the Amazing Aunt Val.
I am so wonderfully grateful to be carrying on the legacy of my family in this great church. Yes, I guess you could say that the Church Girl does have some Swag!
God bless the whole wide world - everywhere!
