"Writing the Vision @ The Speed of Life!"

Like the sons of Issachar who had understanding of the times to know what the nation ought to do (I Chronicles 12:32); We, too, are Writing the Vision and Making it plain that they may run that read it (Habakkuk 2: 2 -4).

Holy Convocation 2022: Chosen! Royal! Holy! Peculiar!

Can there be any doubt that we are called to worship the Creator God and to celebrate the inherent divinity within each of us - humanity, the true apple of His eye. Further still, who among us does not honor the value and validation we receive from within our own respective domains?

To be recognized and acknowledged for an outstanding achievement, accommodation or accomplishment. Yes, It is purely natural to want to be lauded and applauded for a task “well done.”

This, dear

Expanding the Cause of Love

“Love,” transcendent and transformative, just may be  the most over-used, misappropriated word in the entire English lexicon - and yet for many it is not practiced nearly enough.

Few prayers, it seems, now petition heaven for "our daily bread," no, for now we are  incessantly  bombarded with the heart-wrenching news of how the streets of the peerless nation are riddled with protests, uprisings, and violence. In the words of the Transformed Pilgrim of Harlem we now want to k

“Celebrating Men Who Understood the Times: The Role The Road The Reasons”

From the tribe of Issachar, there were 200 leaders of the tribe with their relatives. All these men understood the signs of the times and knew the best course for Israel to take.”  I Chronicles 12:32 – (NLT/ New Living Translation)

This scripture speaks of the Mighty Men of Valor who saw the signs that the king at that time, Saul, was no longer favored by God because he reneged on a key requirement of

I am NOT interested in your religious leader's "God's got a blessing in store for you" or any other "divine revelations" they claim to have received from "on high".ANY religious leader, of ANY faith, which does not see, acknowledge, and ACT on the fact that America is in deep trouble and openly acknowledge that the nation has drifted into an abyss of death, decadence and debauchery is NOT worthy of the of title nor of the sacred position entrusted to them.

According to the latest U.S. census data there are 2.78 million Administrative Assistants throughout the nation.

Here at the New Unity Baptist Church, we have one of those tireless, selfless, dedicated workers amongst us. Her name, Deacon Tamera Randolph. Her value to our ever-evolving, ever-expanding  "equipping and empowering" ministry-organization is indispensable.

Of the 2.78 million persons working in one of these physically demanding, mentally taxing, emotionally stre

The Slap Heard Around the World!

Lately, there’s been a surfeit of reports concerning a certain emotionally unbalanced actor slapping a comedian as an audience of the high positioned and the hoi polloi looked on.

The viewership ratings spiked upwards, an almost 100% increase when the reports, tweets, IG’s and other smokey signals began to waft into the dank social media clapbackmosphere. The galleries looked on with glee and they wanted more.

Memes of the blow began to pop

Prophets Profit a Nation

Today, as much as ever before we need to reawaken and revive the “Beloved Community” as did the prophets of yore. Not with the fiery bombast of an Amos, necessarily, but with the comforting yet piercing acuity and acuminate perspicacity of a Deutero-Isaiah.

The cities of our nation are in trouble; a smoldering cauldron of angst, anguish and anger simmers unattended on the cauldron of Jeremiad suffering and numbing misery. In the words of the late great Derrick Bell, activi

February: Our Month of Visioning

In the 1922 classic The Wasteland, poet sublime, Thomas Stearns (T.S.) Eliot, says that “April is the cruelest month breeding lilacs out of the dead land.”

Part 1 of the ode begins with an image of spring rain soaking down into the dried roots of a lilac bush. The opening lines raise the central question of the poem: whether regeneration will, or even can, take place in the wasteland of the modern world.

Hesitantly, and yet quite certain that it will, I offer a haltering “Ye

Is there a greater feeling than knowing that you're loved? Not just the kissy-kissy love of romanticism - and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that, either! But just in knowing that somebody somewhere somehow loves you moles, warts, freckles, thinning hair and all. Period!

Well, there absolutely is someone who loves you. Indeed, the Bible, the sacred word of God, tell us that God loves the whole wide world - that, my friend, was the first www (world wide web).

Why Advent Matters to Me

by: Deacon Wanda Y. Bennett

Many people often ask the question, why does ‘Advent’ matter?

In the past, even I used to wonder what it was all about. As I matured and developed a clearer understanding of the Season of Advent.

it matters a great deal more to me now.

As I’ve come to learn, Advent begins on the fourth Sunday before Christmas Day, and this year (2021) it begins on Sunday, November 28th and ends on Christmas Day. It is the season where we prepare to celebrate Jesus’ first coming as a baby. J

Simply Give Thanks!

Writing to the Church at Colossae, three times Paul challenged his fellow believers in Christ to gratitude.

Much of our experience as a Christian, springs from the gratitude we feel toward God for everything He did for us.  Colossians 2:7 reminds us that our hearts should overflow with thankfulness.

God not only deserves our love and worship, He also deserves our thankful hearts.  James 1:17 says “Everything that’s good in life comes from Him.” Thank Him for the provision

The Protestant Reformation

On October 31, 2017, our church held a service by the Monument of Martin Luther at Lake Montebello @ Hillen Road in East Baltimore in celebration of the Quincentennial Anniversary of the "PROTESTANT REFORMATION" (1517-2017).

The evening service was hosted by the Late Deacon Valarie Giggers and husband Walter Giggers.

We parked our cars, set up our tables with pamphlets and other handouts, refreshments and snacks.  As dusk approached, and evening f
