STATEMENT OF SOLIDARITY AND SACRED ACTION
Jamaica stands on edge as Tropical Storm Melissa barrels in, threatening to unleash up to 30 inches of relentless rain on soil already drenched and unstable. Floods and landslides are imminent. Once again, a small nation that has contributed least to global emissions bears the heaviest cost. Yet, through it all, Jamaica rises--resilient, prayerful, and determined. Climate change isn't distant or theoretical- it's personal, it's painful, and it's happening now.
THE CHURCH'S RESPONSE
New Unity Baptist Church joins hands and hearts with Jamaica--not just in thoughts and prayers, but in holy action. While billions flow elsewhere, our global family in the islands faces ruin without relief. Faith must do more than fee; it must build, give, and lift. We stand in covenantal compassion with our brothers and sisters across the sea, urging both spiritual intercession and tangible aid. Climate justice is Kingdom work-and the work begins with us.
