Sister to Sister

There is something wonderful and exhilarating about a room full of “Sistas” encouraging, supporting, loving, praying for one another, and growing in Grace together. A safe and sacred place where all masks can be removed and allowed to be who we are.

I believe it is so important for every woman and girl to develop healthy, strong support systems, a sisterhood that will encourage you to be the best representation of the divinity within; an inherent right belonging to every woman regardless of place of birth or station in life.

We are stronger together. God provides grace for every kind of brokenness. He allows us to advance in that grace together! If we are willing to take His hand and the hand of our sisters, He will lead and guide us into His complete purpose for us.

Just as Deborah, Ruth, Priscilla, The Daughters of Zelophehad and other heroines of scripture had a purpose and a call that impacted many for God, so you my sister were created with a unique destiny that only you will be able to fulfil.

Along the way you may have lost sight of that purpose. You may have bought into the notion that there are limits on what you can do but we as your sisters will remind you that, ‘with God nothing is impossible’ (Luke 1:37).

In fellowship, we become spiritual pillars and anchors for one another, a lifeline for some, and an ear to listen to and a breast to rest upon for others. All the while praying for and loving our sisters. Alice Walker, acclaimed writer of The Color Purple said, “Is there any solace more comforting than the arms of a sister”.

Psalm 139:14 reminds us that you my sister are “fearfully and wonderfully made”. When translated from Hebrew “fearfully”  means ‘with great reverence, heart-felt interest, and with respect. To be unique and set apart!’ Yes! That is what God feels about you Beloved Daughters of Zion.

Do not grieve the heart of God by attempting to be like or emulate anyone else but who God says you are. Yes, admire appreciate and respect others but be your authentic self. You are indeed a designer’s original. An original so distinct within herself that she even stands out in a room filled with other jewels.
