Motherhood

Being a Mom for over 35 years has been quite rewarding. I mean it hasn’t always been easy but my good days certainly have outweighed the bad. Having five kids is a challenge because you have different personalities. One likes this, one likes that, but you make it work.

When I had my first child my sister gave me a book written by a gentleman by the name of Dr. Spock. I appreciated it but I never read it. I just believed that motherhood comes natural, and I was right it does. I love the relationship that I have with my kids. We can talk about everything. We share, we laugh and we cry together.  I raised them in a Christian family and prayed and I am still praying that they keep that relationship with God.

I remember when I played Mary for our Easter play at church. I had to cry when Jesus was on the cross. At the beginning the cry was fake but then the real tears started flowing as I felt the pain that Mary felt. To me that is a real Mother. There have been nights of crying and praying because that is what Mothers do. We want the best for our kids, we want them to succeed, and most of all we want them to be healthy.  Proverbs 22:6 says: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

I believe as Mothers we should teach our children the word of God, teach them to be leaders and make great choices.  I could not imagine my life without my children. I thank God for allowing me the honor of being a Mother and to be able to share this unique and wonderful love with my amazing children.

“Being a mama can be tough, but always remember in the eyes of your child, no one does it better than you”

Yes Sis, it is a tough job but also the most rewarding!! Your children have watched your great witness and I am persuaded that it is also in them. Keep up the great witness. Much love.
