WTVM "A Family's Love Is Forever" by The Cross-Smith Family

Wednesday, February 17, 2021, Mother Shirley Cross and Minister Zen Smith spoke about the meaning of family and how they stay connected throughout the years. Mother Cross provided a memorable overview of her marriage with the late Reverend William Cross, Jr. and how they raised there children.

Minister Smith provided memories of her parents and the valuable insight on life they provided their children. Minister Smith also recognized the patriarch of their family, her grandfather “Pop Jones” who lives in Philadelphia, PA at the young age of 104. To God be the Glory!

WTVM "Our Culture" by Jessica White

On Sunday, February 28th, Sister Jessica White, graduate from a HBCU Bowie State University and member of New Unity’s Young Adult and Media Ministry covered the theme "Black History and Our Culture". She presented information on how African Americans made an impact in the entertainment industry and families who rose to success in the gospel music industry.  She highlighted two families: The Winans and the Clark Sisters. 

WTVM Presenter: Destiny McBee

Sunday, February 14, 2021 -   Sis Destiny McBee featured a slideshow of several virtuous women in black history and concluded by highlighting the virtuous women in her life. She credits her Christian upbringing and solid foundation to her mother and grandmother.

WTVM Presenter: James Thomas III

Wednesday, February 10, 2021 -  Brother James Thomas reflected on our theme and particularly on "The Family and Our Identity", he shared a little known Black History Fact about his great uncle, the late Maryland Delegate Kenneth Leon Webster of the 40th Legislative District.

He proudly read excerpts from a newspaper article which reflects how his uncle, authored the legislation to make MLK a state holiday in Maryland. 

WTVM Presenter: Inell Colvin

Wed, February 3, 2021 - Sis Inell Colvin's presentation  celebrated "The Family."  She defined what family meant to her and talked about the first family in the Bible: Adam and Eve which many generations came from their union.   She also took the opportunity to recognize "Black History" month by highlighting a successful African-American family in the business and media sector, mother and son, Cathy Hughes and Alfred Liggins, Jr.   She also shared a little known fact about her late brother, Mr. Walter Monzell Simpson. He was one of the first African American elected to the school board in Winnsboro, SC.

WTVM Presenter: Francis Dixon "Honor Thy Father and Mother"

Sunday, February 3, 2021 -  Brother Francis Dixon reminisced on his rich heritage and abundant love that flows throughout his family, He related back to this year's theme of "The Family:  Our Identity Our Representation and Our Diversity. as he paid tribute to his mom and dad for their solid Christian foundations and humble beginnings. Although Francis comes from a large family, he remembers that they never went hungry and he can remember their needs were always taken care of.   They loved and cared for one another with their whole heart.  

How grateful to God he is for the parents God gave him and he paid much honor to them today for being parents who love the Lord and represents in such a way their family are sure to follow in their footsteps.
